Juan de la Cierva Postdoctoral Position

The “Development of the human lymphohematopoietic system” group, led by Marisa Toribio at the Centro de Biología Molecular “Severo Ochoa” (CSIC-UAM), Madrid, is looking for a postdoctoral candidate willing to apply for a “Juan de la Cierva” schoolarship (either formación or incorporación) co-funded by the Spanish Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness.

All the information can be found at: Formación, Incorporación.

Candidates must hold a PhD awarded between either January 2013-December 2015 or January 2016-December 2017, be officially qualified for working with research animals (categories B or C) and count with at least one paper as a first author in a high impact journal. Experience in human hematopoiesis and leukemia in mouse models, molecular biology and biochemical assays will be valued.

Our research is aimed at investigating the cellular and molecular bases of cell fate specification of human hematopoietic stem and progenitor cells (HSC/HPCs), with special emphasis on thymopoiesis and T-cell development. Based on loss- and gain-of- function genetic approaches, cell differentiation assays, and hematolymphoid reconstitution of humanized mice, we aim to identify molecular regulators which control the development of human T lymphocytes and non- T cell intrathymic components, and the generation of leukemia.

Further information about our group may be accessed at: http://www.cbm.uam.es/toribiolab

If interested, please send an email including CV and contact of 2 references no later than December 12th 2017 to: Marisa Toribio (This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.)
