Mutaciones en el gen supresor de tumores BRCA2 est\u00e1n ligadas a la susceptibilidad al c\u00e1ncer de mama y otros tipos de c\u00e1ncer, y su funci\u00f3n principal es preservar la integridad del genoma a trav\u00e9s de su papel en la reparaci\u00f3n del ADN mediante la recombinaci\u00f3n hom\u00f3loga. Preservar la estabilidad del genoma tambi\u00e9n es fundamental para prevenir enfermedades como el c\u00e1ncer. <\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Nuestro laboratorio examina los mecanismos celulares (v\u00edas de reparaci\u00f3n del ADN) que act\u00faan para preservar la integridad del genoma. En particular, estamos interesados en la recombinaci\u00f3n hom\u00f3loga (HR), un mecanismo que repara lesiones especialmente toxicas como las roturas de ADN de doble cadena, as\u00ed como lesiones en la horquilla de replicaci\u00f3n. Para ello, utilizamos como modelo la prote\u00edna de susceptibilidad al c\u00e1ncer de mama BRCA2 mediadora en este proceso.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Las mutaciones en BRCA2 predisponen al c\u00e1ncer de mama y de ovario con alta penetrancia y tambi\u00e9n est\u00e1n vinculadas a otros tipos de c\u00e1ncer, como el de pr\u00f3stata y el de p\u00e1ncreas, as\u00ed como al s\u00edndrome predisponente al c\u00e1ncer conocido como anemia de Fanconi. Por lo tanto, con este modelo esperamos arrojar luz sobre la relaci\u00f3n entre las mutaciones en BRCA2, la inestabilidad del genoma y la predisposici\u00f3n al c\u00e1ncer. <\/p>\n<p>[\/et_pb_text][\/et_pb_column][et_pb_column type=&#8221;2_5&#8243;
