{"id":286046,"date":"2024-02-28T00:56:03","date_gmt":"2024-02-27T23:56:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dhcp205002.cbm.uam.es\/?p=286046"},"modified":"2024-10-17T16:53:09","modified_gmt":"2024-10-17T14:53:09","slug":"identifican-mutaciones-que-afectan-la-multiplicacion-del-virus-sars-cov-2-con-redes-neuronales","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.cbm.uam.es\/index.php\/2024\/02\/28\/identifican-mutaciones-que-afectan-la-multiplicacion-del-virus-sars-cov-2-con-redes-neuronales\/","title":{"rendered":"Identifican mutaciones que afectan la multiplicaci\u00f3n del virus SARS-CoV-2 con redes neuronales"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Equipos del Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Cient\u00edficas (CSIC), de la Universidad Polit\u00e9cnica de Madrid y de la Fundaci\u00f3n Jim\u00e9nez D\u00edaz han revelado en pacientes de COVID-19 la aparici\u00f3n incipiente de variantes de coronavirus con propiedades biol\u00f3gicas alteradas.<\/p>\n<p>El estudio utiliz\u00f3 muestras de virus aislados de pacientes de la primera ola de COVID-19 en Madrid, sobre las que se aplica una t\u00e9cnica de secuenciaci\u00f3n ultra-profunda para identificar mutaciones presentes en muy baja proporci\u00f3n. En cada paciente infectado se hallaron multitud de mutaciones cuya relaci\u00f3n de parentesco se analiz\u00f3 mediante mapas de redes neuronales. Este procedimiento, basado en t\u00e9cnicas de computaci\u00f3n avanzada, permite visualizar en forma de mapas tridimensionales las secuencias con distintas mutaciones, la distancia evolutiva entre secuencias y la frecuencia con la que se encuentran en cada paciente.<\/p>\n<p>El foco se fij\u00f3 sobre la prote\u00edna que permite la multiplicaci\u00f3n del virus, llamada polimerasa, y en la prote\u00edna responsable de inducir la producci\u00f3n de anticuerpos que pueden proteger frente a enfermedad grave. La investigaci\u00f3n ha demostrado que algunas de las mutaciones son capaces de modificar la velocidad con la que se multiplica el virus. Para confirmar este efecto, se purific\u00f3 la polimerasa del virus y se comprob\u00f3 que su capacidad de copiar el material gen\u00e9tico del virus var\u00eda considerablemente entre las polimerasas mutantes que de modo incipiente surgen en los virus de los pacientes. Estas mutaciones hasta ahora hab\u00edan pasado inadvertidas por su baja proporci\u00f3n en los pacientes infectados.<\/p>\n<p>El estudio ha sido codirigido por Soledad Delgado, Celia Perales, Nuria Verdaguer y Esteban Domingo, en el consorcio participan tambi\u00e9n investigadores de la Universidad Complutense de Madrid, la Northwestern University de Estados Unidos y la consultora internacional Management Solutions. Su \u00e9xito se ha basado en el marcado car\u00e1cter interdisciplinar de la investigaci\u00f3n, en la que se han aunado un amplio abanico de conocimientos que abarcan desde la medicina a la biolog\u00eda estructural y la bioinform\u00e1tica.<\/p>\n<p>Los resultados han puesto de manifiesto que la capacidad de variaci\u00f3n de este coronavirus es mucho mayor de lo que se sospechaba, con una r\u00e1pida proliferaci\u00f3n de mutantes de comportamiento distinto.
