Beatriz Cubelos, ha identificado que las prote\u00ednas R-Ras1 y R-Ras2 desempe\u00f1an un papel crucial en la regulaci\u00f3n de diversas subpoblaciones de oligodendrocitos, las c\u00e9lulas responsables de producir mielina en el sistema nervioso central.<\/p>\n<p>El hallazgo, publicado en la revista <em>Glia<\/em>, podr\u00eda abrir nuevas oportunidades para desarrollar terapias regenerativas en enfermedades neurodegenerativas como la esclerosis m\u00faltiple y la neuromielitis \u00f3ptica.<\/p>\n<p>Los oligodendrocitos maduros (MOLs) son esenciales para la transmisi\u00f3n r\u00e1pida de se\u00f1ales neuronales. La disfunci\u00f3n o p\u00e9rdida de estos se asocia a enfermedades desmielinizantes, en las que la capacidad de transmisi\u00f3n de informaci\u00f3n nerviosa se ve seriamente afectada. Aunque investigaciones previas hab\u00edan sugerido que los MOLs no constituyen una poblaci\u00f3n homog\u00e9nea, hasta ahora se desconoc\u00eda c\u00f3mo se equilibran y diferencian sus subpoblaciones en condiciones normales y patol\u00f3gicas.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3><strong><br \/>\n<\/strong>Prote\u00ednas claves en la diversidad celular de los oligodendrocitos<\/h3>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>El equipo de la Dra. Cubelos explor\u00f3 el papel de las GTPasas R-Ras1 y R-Ras2 en la diversidad de estos oligodendrocitos productores de mielina.
