Traditionally dedicated to biomass production at fermenter scale, the facility is now evolving to meet the growing scientific demand for high-quality recombinant proteins. With a renewed focus on protein expression and purification, we aim to support research groups by providing tailored solutions and expert guidance throughout the entire bioprocess.

Fermenters

Four fermenters are available for producing biomass and protein expression, with different working volumes:

1 x Biostat C Plus Fermenter (30 L)

1 x Biostat C15 fermenter (15 L)

2 x  Biostat B Plus fermenters – 4 L

 

Technical characteristics:

  • Automatic stirred reactors (STR).
  • Autoclavable or sterilisation-in-place depending on the model.
  •  Precise control of key parameters: pH, dissolved oxygen (DO), temperature and foam.
  • Compatible with microbial and cell culture applications.
  • Efficient agitation system with a wide speed range and low maintenance requirements.
  • Automated feeding options.
  • DCU controller with an intuitive graphical interface for process monitoring.
  • Software: Sartorius BioPAT MCFS.
