Board
The Board is the governing body of the CBM and is responsible for all matters and incidents affecting the structure, organisation and smooth running of the Centre.
Membership of the Board:
– Two members representing the UAM, appointed by its Rectorate.
– Two members representing the CSIC, appointed by its Presidency.
The members of the Governing Committee may not be staff members of the centre.
The Director, Vice-Director and Manager of the centre shall attend the meetings with the right to speak but not to vote.

Directorate and Management
The Directorate of the CBM is the body that exercises the legal and institutional representation of the center and directs its scientific activity.
The Manager is responsible for the economic and administrative management of the center.

Steering Committee
This is the collegiate management body composed of the different groups that participate in the center’s research activity. Among its functions, it is responsible for advising and informing the Director on all matters affecting the operation of the center.

Internal Scientific Advisory Comittee
We have an Internal Scientific Advisory Committee composed of the Direction and Vice-Direction of the CBM and the Scientific Program Directors, as well as a maximum of 4 CBM principal investigators appointed by the Scientific Council.

External Scientific Advisory Board (SAB)
Our SAB is a collegiate external advisory body composed of a minimum of four researchers of international prestige whose function is to advise, and if necessary evaluate, the scientific activity of the CBM, and to provide advice at the request of the Board and the Director.

Technical services
Maintaining the functionality of a complex building like the CBM’s headquarters involves a wide range of tasks, including health and safety, facilities management, etc.
To support the daily operational needs of our researchers, our dedicated technical teams handle activities ranging from ensuring that lab spaces are equipped with the necessary tools and resources, to making sure our scientists are protected and know how to handle toxic chemicals and radioactive substances.
Additionally, our techical services staff manage essential research facilities. These teams oversee building maintenance, sterilization of glassware, preparation of reagents and culture media, and the repair of scientific equipment.

Operations teams
Our operations teams work closely together to provide the best support to the CBM’s scientific endeavour: from running institutional activities to communicating the center’s scientific results, or making sure that our warehouse is well stocked, so that our scientists can focus on the research.
