The Proteomics Facility offers advanced proteomics analytical services to the CBM scientific community, and also to any researcher from other public research centers, universities, hospitals and companies. As a support service for research activity, we provide personalized scientific/technical support to each project, which may include the stages before and after analysis: experimental design, projects review, data analysis and advice/support on the biological interpretation of generated data.
Since 2005, our laboratory has been part of ProteoRed, a Proteomics Platform whose main objective is to integrate and coordinate the activities of the Spanish Proteomics Services as well as to evaluate the quality of the services offered (participating in the human proteome sequencing project (SpHP)). We are also members of the Spanish Proteomics Society (SEProt) and the European Proteomics Association (EuPA). Besides, we are the Proteomics Service of the IIS- Princesa.
Equipment
1. Easy-nLC II system coupled to an ion trap LTQ-Velos mass spectrometer (Thermo-Scientific)
Characteristics:
- Nano Electrospray Ionization (ESI) Source.
- Coupled to a Proxeon EASY-nLC II HPLC.
- In this model, the analyzer consists of two linear traps in tandem, each one with a different Helium pressure in order to optimize the different types of analysis and increase speed.
2. Easy 1200 system coupled to an ion trap LTQ-Orbitrap-Velos-Pro hybrid mass spectrometer (Thermo-Scientific)
Characteristics:
- High resolution mass spectrometer.
- Nano Electrospray Ionization (ESI) Source.
- Coupled to a Proxeon EASY-nLC 1200 UHPLC.
- Equipped with two tandem linear trap type analyzers and one Orbitrap analyzer. They provide great speed, sensitivity and mass accuracy.
- Trap CID and Cell HCD Fragmentation.

Instructions
Before requesting the our services, it will be necessary to consult the experimental design with our staff in order to be able to effectively address the analyses to be carried out and to be able to prepare a detailed budget.
External service requests must be signed by the project PIs. No work will begin without all documents having been correctly completed and the budget agreed.
The use and handling of the equipment will be carried out exclusively by the facility’s technical staff.
