The Proteomics Facility offers advanced proteomics analytical services to the CBM scientific community, and also to any researcher from other public research centers, universities, hospitals and companies. As a support service for research activity, we provide personalized scientific/technical support to each project, which may include the stages before and after analysis: experimental design, projects review, data analysis and advice/support on the biological interpretation of generated data.

Our laboratory has been part of ProteoRed, a Proteomics Platform whose main objective is to integrate and coordinate the activities of the Spanish Proteomics Services as well as to evaluate the quality of the services offered (participating in the human proteome sequencing project (SpHP)). We are also members of the Spanish Proteomics Society (SEProt) and the European Proteomics Association (EuPA).

Since September 2024, the Proteomics Facility is a share centralized unit between the CBM and the CNB, and it is also integrated in the International Excellence Campus UAM+CSIC. The rates applied to CBM and CNB researches are those corresponding to the internal category.

Equipment

The platform has been significantly upgraded with a new lab and three new state-of-the art instruments, two Thermo Orbitrap Exploris 240 and one Orbitrap Eclipse Trybrid, equipped with FAIMS ion mobility modules, three nano HPLC, two Ultimate 3000, and one Vanquish Neo; and three analytical HPLCs: Ultimate 3000, Knauer, and Jasco, respectively. We also have an Opentrons T2 and an Accelerome (Thermo) platform for automatic sample preparation and an Intavis Multipep peptide synthesizer. Finally, the laboratory has licenses for data processing software: Mascot 2.8, Proteome Discoverer 3.1, Peaks 12.5 and Spectronaut 19.8, in addition to other open-source resources.
