Applications are invited to apply for a postdoctoral position to work on a project aimed at elucidating the role of cell-type epigenetics in memory formation and Alzheimer’s disease progression. This project will be conducted in the laboratory of Dr Ernest Palomer at the Centro de Biología Molecular Severo Ochoa (Madrid). The project focuses on unravelling the epigenetic mechanisms controlling cell-type gene expression programs in memory formation and how these epigenetic mechanisms and expression patterns are altered in dementia, with the ultimate goal of identifying new targets for dementia. The postdoctoral researcher will use a range of state-of-the-art molecular and cell biology, including CUT&Tag or EpiFlow, a single-cell multiplex approach we have recently developed to study epigenetic marks in 8 brain cell types by spectral flow cytometry.
Applicants should hold a PhD in Molecular Biology, Neurosciences, or a related field. Applications are particularly welcome from candidates with research expertise in neuroepigenetics or in vivo neurobiology. Experience in flow cytometry or bioinformatics would be advantageous.
